Classifications of Rose
Rosaceae is considered as one of the largest family in the plant kingdom. This family consists of various ornamental landscape plants, berries, fruits including pyracantha, raspberries, cherries and apples, which are characterized by the hympathium’s shape or the part of the flower wherein the seeds develops as well as petals which consist of five groups. Roses are part of the plant genus Rosa. From that genus, the roses are grouped into the classification, which based on the characteristics of a particular plant displays. To know more about this type of plant, the following are some of the classifications of rose.
- Hybrid Teas – These types can bear large roses which usually grow into one stem and blood continuously throughout the season of growing. The bush could grow bit taller and with an upright pattern. They are commonly budded in a brisk rootstock and they are good option if you enjoy large flowers. They are also great especially if you like to make rose arrangement.
- Grandifloras – They are upright rose plants, which is similar to hybrid tea flowers. These flowers are usually cultivated in clusters. Grandifloras typically grow between 3 or 6 ft tall. They are usually always budded and great option wherein lots of blooms to produce and the garden will surely look attractive.
- Polyanthas – They are a forerunner of contemporary floribundas, wherein the plant is quite large anc covered with small flowers. The typical habit of this plant is hardy, compact and generous in blooming.
- Floribundas – The flowers that these plants can produced are quite smaller than the hybrid teas that grows in cluster with short stems. The bush of this type is also compact and the bloom is continues during the growing season. In general, floribundas are budded plants but commercially they can also be grown with roots. Floribundas are ideal especially if you want to want low-growing plants with number of attractive and colorful colors.
- Miniatures – This type of rose are some of the most well-known miniatures or small plants they commonly grow between 6 -36 inches tall. Their flowers and leaves are great in proposition. Miniatures usually grow with their own roots and they are not budded that makes them difficult during cold season. In general, most varieties of miniatures bloom abundantly blooms all through the growing season, which are great choice for various colors and flowers. In addition, you can also grow miniatures in indoor pots under artificial light to grow the plant.
